Microwave imaging system for brain stroke detection

Start: 2016

Duration: 3 years.

The project was done as an original master’s thesis with the aim of creating a system that could help people. At the same time, the desire was to acquire knowledge of mathematical modeling using Matlab and deepen antenna design knowledge. It was also interesting to learn how to read and analyze scientific articles in search of justification for decisions made.

Result:

A computerized system operating on the Matlab platform has been created. Capable of real-time data reading from a model composed of 12 identical antennas.

Signals from the antennas are switched through a specially designed software-controlled antenna switch and transmitted through the VNA.

The system’s display results are presented graphically in Matlab.
